Artist in Court

Isabelle Brourman (b. 1993) is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer in New York City with a BFA in Art History from The University of Michigan and an MFA in Painting and Drawing from Pratt Institute. She is currently conducting a project which situates herself as an official sketch artist in high-profile American trials including Depp v. Heard, The People v. Donald Trump (x3), and The People v. Danny Masterson. Unlike her predecessors, Brourman got an official seat without a media network in order to keep her work free of aesthetic requirements and deadlines. Her unchartered approach has redefined the tradition of court art by freeing the work from its former application as a replacement for photography and instead into the world of fine art. Currently, she is documenting The People of New York v. Donald J. Trump for New York Magazine, as well as the presidential campaign.
